About the Post
Are you seeking a role that will excite and energise you? Would you relish the opportunity to join an exciting and progressive journey to transform education across our community?
We are seeking an inspirational and highly motivated teacher of Music to join our talented and forward-thinking department as we continue to transform education across our town. This post would suit a colleague in the early stages of their career who is looking for a role that goes beyond the traditional teaching post. The Twynham School and TGS federation is now firmly established in Christchurch and there really is unlimited potential for our organisation to deliver a truly exceptional vision for young people across the town. The opportunity to be part of the team which works across two schools and two different contexts offer unrivalled career development for an aspirational colleague.
This is a truly exceptional opportunity for a talented colleague.
The Grange school are fortunate enough to be one of only 30 schools in the country that are part of the MiSST programme (www.misst.org.uk for more info). The charity (patroned by Andrew Lloyd Webber) funds schools to buy classical instruments for every student in KS3. This gives young people an opportunity that they otherwise may not have had, to learn an instrument and also perform in high profile venues with other MiSST schools. Every KS3 lesson at The Grange School has a dedicated peripatetic teacher to support students and co-teach the violin, flute and trumpet with the class music teacher. The successful candidate will co-ordinate the MiSST programme at the school and continue to build on strong links with partnering schools.
What we can offer you
- The chance to be a part of an exciting educational journey alongside highly regarding professionals
- The opportunity to work with exceptional colleagues and wonderful young people and their families
- An exceptional CPD offer from ECT through to preparation for senior and system leadership
- Strong and supportive leadership, centralised sanctions and an excellent working environment
- The opportunity to work within Twynham Learning; a progressive multi-academy trust
- The opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful areas of the South Coast
Who we are looking for

- Teach Music within an aspirational organisation with a vision for world class education
- Lead extra-curricular ensembles and organise performance opportunities
- Further improve the already strong outcomes for students in Music
- Work with like-minded colleagues who believe in the power of education to transform lives
