About the Post

 

We are looking to appoint an exceptional and inspirational teacher of PE to join our highly successful Sport, Health and Outdoor Education team. This is a very rare and exciting opportunity to join an already high-performing faculty area and to support the vision for excellence being developed by our Director of Sport alongside our Head of PE.

 

This post has emerged as a result of an exciting new collaboration between Twynham Sixth Form and AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust. We deliver a Post 16 Football Education Programme based at The Grange School and we require a strong teacher of PE to add additional staffing capacity to our team.

Who we are looking for

 

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • would relish the opportunity to work in a forward-thinking and exciting organisation
  • passionately believe in the power of education to change lives
  • have an honours degree (or equivalent) in Physical Education or a related discipline
  • hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • have experience of improving outcomes for students in Physical Education as a classroom teacher
  • have successful experience of teaching Physical Education across Key Stage 3-4 in a state 11-16 or 11-18 school
  • have an understanding of effective pedagogy
  • have excellent classroom management skills
  • have experience of leading school trips
  • have experience of delivering extra-curricular activities
  • have the ability to teach a range of sports and physical activities
  • have experience of delivering extra-curricular activities
  • are able to travel independently between local school sites
