About the Post

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Pastoral Leader, working alongside our Senior Leadership Team and Head of Year to ensure every student feels supported, included, and able to thrive. In this role, you will play a key part in improving student attendance and engagement, providing targeted support for individuals, and building positive relationships that foster a strong sense of belonging and community. You will work closely with families, external agencies, and staff to ensure students receive the right academic, emotional, and social support to succeed.

 

As a role model, you will set high expectations while championing equality and inclusion, ensuring all students feel valued and empowered. From break and lunchtime supervision to administration and liaison with external agencies, you will help create a safe and supportive school environment where every child can flourish.   • Have experience of working with children in an educational setting.

Essential knowledge and skills:

 

  • Minimum GCSE A-C (or equivalent) in maths and English, strong communication skills, and ability to manage behaviour to create a positive learning environment.
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to safeguarding, equality, and professional development.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, parents, and external agencies while maintaining discretion, patience, and professionalism.
  • A willingness to attend courses as required to enhance the knowledge, understanding and skills to improve the level and quality of support given to students.

 

Desirable knowledge and skills:

 

  • Completion of ELSA and/or Mental Health First Aid training.
  • Ability to drive and access to own car.
